Discipline, Discipline, Discipline:Africans are huge fans of discipline. Experience has shown that many African leaders labeled as dictators were more revered by the citizens than their democratic successors. Therefore, if you wish to satisfy your country as an African president, first learn your country’s laws effectively, and then strictly stand by them even if it could mean publicly condemning your vice-presidential candidate. The best example of this virtue is the newly elected Tanzanian President John Magufuli, who won elections mainly on the basis of his unique approach to restoring his country’s failing values. From his decision to skip the nation’s independence celebrations due to the profligate spending attached to it to renewing his gun licence just like any other Tanzanian citizen, Magufuli has been revered as the most disciplined leader Tanzania has ever had.
