Authorities in Pennsylvania have arrested and charged a 39-year-old woman after she allegedly used several aliases to secure nursing jobs within the state.
Per Fox News, the suspect, identified as Shannon Nicole Womack, gained employment at nursing facilities and rehabilitation centers by using different aliases to impersonate being a registered nurse, licensed practical nurse and registered nurse supervisor. The Pennsylvania State Police in a statement also said that she set up a limited liability company (LLC) that was false.
Womack was driving a Mercedes-Benz vehicle when Pennsylvania state troopers pulled her over in April. It was ultimately determined that the identification Womack gave to the troopers was false, triggering an investigation which linked the 39-year-old to about 20 different aliases and seven different social security numbers.
Authorities said the aliases used Womack in several parts of the state were: Shannon Nicole Parham, Shannon Nicole Abiola, Shannon Nicole Armstrong, Shannon Abiola-Parham, Shannon Nicole Grimes, Shannon Nicole Womack, Shannon Nicole Lawson, Shannon Nicole Lethco, Shannon Nicole Robinson and Shannon Lee Lawson.
Investigators said that they suspect Womack initiated her allegedly fraudulent actions back in 2020, and she took those criminal activities to other eastern states in the country, the Pennsylvania State Police said in a different statement, according to Fox News.

Though authorities are yet to determine the motive behind her actions, Womack is also accused of stealing medication from many healthcare establishments.
“This case is particularly notable as it spans multiple states along the East Coast, suggesting a broader scope than initially anticipated,” a spokesperson for Pennsylvania State Police told the news outlet. “As court proceedings unfold, we may gain further insight into the underlying motive. However, the complaint already outlines a pattern of medication theft from several healthcare facilities.”
The spokesperson added: “What stands out is not only the financial aspect, including payment for services, but also the involvement of high-value pharmaceuticals, which currently appears to be a significant link in the investigation.”
Authorities also said she reportedly worked at the jobs for only brief periods. Womack has since been charged with forgery, identity theft, procurement fraud, unlawful use of a computer, theft by unlawful taking, endangering the welfare of care, and several other offenses.
“To aid in an ongoing investigation, the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Bureau of Criminal Investigation is requesting health care agencies and providers in the state to review their employment records due to an investigation of suspected fraudulent activities involving Shannon Nicole Womack,” authorities said in the statement.
