Authorities in Philadelphia say a 32-year-old woman was killed after she was crushed between two private ambulances. According to CBS News, the September 10 incident occurred around 10.00am at German-town.
The deceased woman, identified as Nisha Jaia Renee Dash, was a colleague of an individual operating one of the ambulances. The vehicles were said to be of 2019 and a 2020 Ford makes.
Police said a patient was in the 2019 Ford while the 2020 Ford ambulance had gone to the location to help offload the patient.
According to authorities, the operator of the 2019 Ford ambulance was behind the driver’s seat while his colleagues were getting ready to bring the patient out of the vehicle. The 2019 Ford began to reverse after the operator got out of the vehicle.
On noticing his car reversing he re-entered it, and inadvertently, instered, slammed on the accelerator pedal. The vehicle thrust menacingly into the waiting ambulance – crushing Dash in the process.
She was taken to a hospital, and later pronounced dead. Authorities are investigating the fatal incident.
