Woman who allegedly shoplifted at a nail supply store returned for her phone she left behind

A woman who allegedly shoplifted a nail supply store in California is said to have gone back to the establishment to try and retrieve her phone after she left it behind following the crime.

According to FOX 11 Los Angeles, the woman and another suspect went to the store on September 19. The store owner said the two female suspects entered and acted as if they wanted to purchase the supplies. But they fled the scene with items valued at about $600 when it was time to pay.

One of the suspects, however, went back to the store they had shoplifted after she realized she had left her phone and ID behind. And though she asked for her phone to be returned, the store owner and clerk told her that would only be possible if she returned the items she allegedly stole.

But the suspect is said to have gotten physically aggressive with the store owner and the pregnant cashier. Authorities ultimately arrested the suspects not too far from the store.

In April, Face2Face Africa reported that a Chicago man was arrested for robbing the same retail store eleven times in five months. In a statement, the Chicago Police Department said Donte Elbert was arrested on Monday after formal complaints were signed by a worker at the store.

Elbert was also accused of stealing merchandise from a different establishment. He was charged with nine felony counts of retail theft of merchandise less than $300, three felony counts of retail theft of merchandise, with a value of more than $300, and a misdemeanor count of criminal trespassing.
