In the third verse of the song, Kendrick listed Future, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Quavo, 2 Chainz, and Young Thug as artists Drake worked with for credibility.
The lyrics caused a stir, especially in Atlanta’s rap community, with fans curious to know how the mentioned artists felt.
Young Thug addressed the topic during a recent GQ interview, which marked his first sit-down since his release from jail in October 2024.

When asked about Kendrick’s lyrics, Thug downplayed the situation and made it clear that he supports Drake.
Before his release, Thug’s girlfriend Mariah The Scientist had already shared some of his thoughts on the beef. She revealed that she used to play the diss songs for him during phone calls while he was locked up.
According to her, he followed the situation with interest but didn’t take any side publicly at the time.
Young Thug and Drake have built a strong relationship over the years, both personally and professionally. Their bond reportedly grew even stronger after Thug’s release.
According to media personality DJ Akademiks, Drake visited Thug shortly after he got out of jail and allegedly gave him $1 million.
