Trevor Noah ‘fools’ Oscars audience with Xhosa phrase in an amazing way.

Trevor always has a joke or two up his sleeve and in certain instances, you may not be able to decipher what he really meant until later.

The South African’s presentation at the Oscars was just one of those funny moments.

On this occasion, only Trevor Noah’s fellow Xhosa speakers immediately caught the joke.

“Growing up as a young boy in Wakanda, I would see King T’Challa flying over our village, and he would remind me of a great Xhosa phrase: ‘Abelungu abazi uba ndiyaxoka,’ which means, ‘In times like these, we are stronger when we fight together than when we try to fight apart,” he said, with the audience applauding.

Interestingly, Trevor lied about the translation as it actually means: “White people don’t know I’m lying.”

Yeah, Trevor got us.
