During the African struggle for independence from Western colonial forces when the majority of the efforts were made by prominent African politicians, there were a handful of royals who made an effort or more in that regard before and during the war of emancipation.
African royals also understood a thing or two about negotiations and they brought that to play with a number of interventions they made. In some instances, kings sent emissaries while in other instances, they penned down their concerns and sent them to those who mattered.
