It takes a great deal of task to ascend to the position of U.S president – arguably the world’s most powerful presidential seat.

Although a majority of the candidates who have had the opportunity to run for President in the United States are male, some women have also attempted breaking the barrier albeit almost always unsuccessful with majority failing to even make it out of the primaries in their respective political parties.

Hillary Clinton immediately comes to mind as a candidate who could have made history by becoming the first female president of the United States, but lost to Donald Trump in 2016.
