Hailing from the port city of Tema, they blew up after releasing “Kiss Your Hand” in 2009, feat. Nigerian star Wande Coal. The group’s style mixes wellexecuted raps with hooks slathered in autotune and clubready beats. As for the name: R2Bees stands for the band’s motto, “Refuse To Be Broke,” and if you believe their champagnesoaked videos (served with a side of private plane), the mantra seems to be working.Signed to its own label, R2Bees Entertainment, R2Bees have shared the same stage with internationally acclaimed music stars including Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Fabulous and Red Café.R2Bees has also performed in several countries including United Kingdom, United States of America and the Netherlands, and also collaborated with artistes such as UK’s Tinchy Stryder and Nigerian musicians, Wizkid, Davido and Wande Coal. R2Bees have been internationally acclaimed for their work having been nominated for a BET Award in 2013 (Best International Artist) as well as numerous other awards in Ghana and abroad. This band is gearing up to make big strides in the US market and will be making their US debut Friday August 22nd at the Armenia Ballroom, 630, 2nd Avenue, New York in the United States. The event is being organised by R2Bees Entertainment in collaboration with Safo Entertainment, Stylin Doc, CHALE and Africalabash. Opening acts include Eddie Kenzo, 2 Shy, Criss Waddle, Nana NYC Etc.
