First, let’s recap the summer items just in case you want to try them before the season ends. And if you live in a warmer climate, then your summer should be starting soon – lucky you!
Tint Moisturizer – This dual product (pictured) acts as a moisturizer while giving minimum coverage, and it’s very light. Try getting one with a light shimmer so you can use at night to give an all-over glow on your shoulders, legs, and cleavage.
Waterproof – Waterproof products, such as mascara, eyeliners, or eye shadows, are great in the summer, because it will stop your make-up from smudging, which can be disastrous. Make-Up Forever (pictured) offers a great waterproof line.
Cheeks – I find that woman of color are intimidated about blush. I get so many reasons as to why blush isn’t being used, from they don’t make colors for my skin complexion to I just look like a clown. Ladies, fret not! They do make blush just for you. Depending on your skin complexion, you can opt for a rich pink rose or a deep plum. Remember to start your application at the apples of your cheeks (try smiling to locate your apples) and brush up toward your temple. And as with any make-up, start with little and build up if needed; a little can go a long way.
Lips – I find in the summertime I can get away with a nice stained or clear gloss (pictured). But for those of you that love your lipsticks, try to grab a vibrant color that shows off your personality. If you‘re a little bold and adventurous, try a hot pink or a popsicle orange! Be sure to line your lips to stop the color from bleeding or running to the corners of your mouth. Lining your lips always gives a well-defined lip! Next time, also use a lip brush to apply your lipstick. This always helps to give a smooth finish.
Nails – Our last of summer look wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t explore with bright bold colors or even nail art. Try painting your toes so that color isn’t always in your face. With so many methods for creating the great nail experience, which method is your favorite: polish, decals, or gels?
I hope before summer ends you will try one of these HAWT ideas!
