Coronavirus may have us in worrying times, but Naija Twitter still got jokes

Hands down, Nigeria Twitter, a.k.a. Naija Twitter, always manages to get the fun side out of almost anything and we’re so here for it! And considering the fact that the coronavirus pandemic has got the entire globe shaken, anything to make us all laugh and temporarily forget about its effects is always something to look forward to.

On Monday, Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari, addressed the nation to provide updates on measures they’re taking to contain the spread of the virus in the country. Among other things, the president announced a lockdown extension in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun states for another week.

He subsequently announced a nationwide curfew from 8 pm to 6 am taking effect after the one-week lockdown.

Though the announcement of the curfew was received with mixed reactions, Naija Twitter, as usual, got buzzing with sarcastic and absolutely hilarious memes and videos about what “coronavirus” will do to you if you break the curfew or what happens when you make it home by a hair’s breadth.

Take a look at some of the funny reactions below and don’t laugh too hard!
