One of the viral songs of the year that even sparked a challenge on social media just got hotter thanks to Beyoncé blessing it with a…savage verse.
On Wednesday, rapper Megan Thee Stallion got social media buzzing when she released the remix of her chart-topping single, Savage, featuring fellow Houston native, Beyoncé. The rapper, who hasn’t hidden her desire of working with Queen Bey, couldn’t hide her excitement after her dream finally came true.
“I’m f*cking crying rn,” she emotionally captioned on Twitter.
The Grammy award-winning singer, who opts to display her rapping prowess on the song, drops some subliminal bars that would most definitely get you nodding your head.
“Please don’t get me hype / Write my name in ice,” the Run the World singer raps. “Can’t argue with these lazy [people] / I just raise my price / I’m a boss, I’m a leader / I pull up in my two-seater / And my mama was a savage, got this sh*t from Tina.”
Speaking to Complex in 2019, Megan Thee Stallion revealed she was looking forward to working with Beyoncé.
“I wanna work with Beyoncé. Obviously, I have to get the OG Hottie—the Houston Hottie—to do a song with me,” she said.
After the song’s release, both artistes announced they are going to donate their proceeds of the single to the coronavirus relief efforts of Bread of Life Inc, a charity organization in their hometown of Houston.
“Female strength, and empowerment shine through on this surprise release from the Houston powerhouses, and many affected by the coronavirus pandemic will receive some much needed help,” a statement said.
