International-Coalition for African Fashion (I-CAF), a not-for-profit retail industry association, is offering New Yorkers the opportunity to shop the latest African fashion designs during its inaugural retail clothing and accessories pop-up boutique at MiLES, on Saturday, October18,12-7PM EST. A special limited seating business workshop will take place from 10am-11:30am for indie and intermediate designers and entrepreneurs.
In its first year, I-CAF aims to introduce African fashion designers to the NYC market using pop-up shop events that will pool together fashion industry professionals, trend setters and consumers who seek to explore and taste designs from Africa.
The Afri-pop event will feature luxury music by DJUniverse and sales of independent African fashion designs ranging from ready- to-wear designs for women and men, to jewelry and other accessories from the following designers: Kibonen|NY, Rue 114, Aschobi, APiF, Jaalyi and NYANGA creations.
There will even be styling tutorials for head-wraps and how to pair them with a variety of ready-to-wear items this fall. The event is sponsored by Zuvaa, the online marketplace for African fashion along with the United Nations Association.
A limited number of tickets are currently available for free access to the event. Click HERE to RSVP.
