Serena Williams’ daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr. is now a co-owner of The Los Angeles Golf Club alongside her mother and father. Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, disclosed this on Instagram on Thursday.
“Announcing my fellow co-owner of @wearelagc… @olympiaohanian! Olympia is the youngest owner in professional sports (@weareangelcity) and is now the youngest 2-team owner in professional sports. She’ll be joined by her future sibling,” he wrote and shared a video of Olympia hitting golf balls.
Just three years ago, Olympia made history as the youngest owner of a pro sports team after investing in women’s soccer team Angel City FC alongside her parents when she was only two years old. At the time, her dad Ohanian said she inspired his decision to invest in Angel City.
“As someone who spends hours kicking around a football with my two-year-old daughter, I want her to have a front row seat to this revolution. I’m personally investing on behalf of my family because creating more opportunities in women’s sports is important to my wife @serenawilliams and me, and we want to be a part of making a better future for our daughter @olympiaohanian,” the tech entrepreneur wrote.
In March this year, the 40-year-old spoke with People about her daughter’s role in the club. “Right now all Olympia knows is that Angel City FC is our team, and she loves cheering for them. I think as she gets older, maybe she’ll come to see the different layers to it,” he said.
The Reddit creator and tennis star Williams have since formed the Los Angeles Golf Club, a new team for a virtual golf league backed by golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, with games set to begin in January 2024.
