The body of 18-year-old Michael Brown, after being shot by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson in 2014

This poem is in view of the Black killings in America and racism at large….

Slowly my eyes shut

Then there it was,

Pitch black, gross darkness

Empty and totally unexplainable

Didn’t look like the color of no man

Suddenly I saw

Blinding bright white light

Didn’t look like the color of no man

The day I died I realized

That no man is black or white

Man is just different shades of man

All colors beautiful to behold

Wonderfully and perfectly made
