Comedian Tiffany Haddish is fighting back following last Saturday’s barrage of vitriolic attacks on her after she photo-bombed singer Shakira at the MTV Video Music Awards.
According to her, she considers the noise from the trolls as an opportunity to stay relevant and popular. She explained that irrespective of the positive or negative attention being accorded her, it is inadvertently boosting her image.
But, for her adversaries, she noted that the attention she is garnering is bothering them because they would never be able to reach the level of fame she has attained, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Haddish took to her X page and wrote: “’This soooooo interesting to me. If you feel like I did to [sic] much All of y’all better be buying @shakira new album!”
“This experience has Aloud me to realize how truly popular I am. I appreciate all of your opinions…”
She ended by saying “Thank You Shana Tova,” which means “Happy New Year” in Hebrew.
It appears Haddish has adopted the “all news is good news” perspective to dismiss criticism regarding her behavior backstage at the VMAs. Whether positive or negative, she is embracing the belief it is a sign of her continued importance.
There were other X users who disagreed with her views. Some believe her actions have attracted a negative vibe to her brand. But, not all joined the troll factory to thump her for her actions. Some offered her words of encouragement and support amid the criticism she was facing. One fan wrote that haters will always hate, but Haddish should continue thriving, making a difference in the lives of those who matter, and doing what makes her feel proud.
After Haddish’s efforts to grab Shakira’s attention, including photo bombing, Shakira posed with her in the backstage red carpet area.
