Shaquille O’Neal, a member of the NBA Hall of Fame, once again exhibited his charitable side by giving a woman a surprise present. Kquoella Lewis was shopping at Best Buy in Lafayette, Louisiana when she noticed a towering figure walking alongside her.

According to KLFY, this towering figure was none other than the famous basketball star. Pleasantly, the two struck up a conversation, during which O’Neal expressed interest in acquiring the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip phone. Lewis also expressed her interest in the same device.

When the store clerk went to retrieve O’Neal’s phone, he made it clear that he would be acquiring two of them. “Get two, one for me and one for her,” the NBA legend said. Lewis was ecstatic at O’Neal’s generosity in purchasing a $1,200 device for her.

O’Neal is no stranger to philanthropic acts and has stacked up quite a number of unexpected acts of kindness. O’Neal once gifted his watch to a three-time heart attack survivor he met at a Golden State Warriors game, according to BecauseofThemWeCan.

Today.com also reported about the time when O’Neal decided to make the day of a random stranger he met at a jewelry store by paying off the engagement ring he had put on layaway. He defended his act, saying, “Don’t worry about it. I do it all the time. I’m just trying to make people smile. That’s all.”

Apart from his many random acts of kindness, O’Neal supports a number of charitable organizations, like the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Feed the Children, the Special Olympics, and his own foundation, the Shaquille O’Neal Foundation, which he founded to support various causes, including education, healthcare, and underserved communities.
