The world’s tropical regions are endowed with medicinal herbs and fruits which for centuries have been tapped into to produce several healthy products. Therefore, when Ayesha Curry wanted to produce something different, she turned to her Jamaican roots for a solution.

Founder and CEO of lifestyle brand Sweet July, she recently announced the release of her skincare line with the ingredients coming from Jamaica. Curry was born in Canada but she is of Jamaican heritage.

Soursop vitamin C serum is now the latest addition to her skincare line. Soursop is a fruit found in tropical regions of the Americas and Caribbean countries, such as Jamaica.

“It’s finally here. Beyond excited to announce our @Sweetjulyskin Soursop Vitamin C Serum,” Curry posted on Instagram. “This is a gentle Vitamin C serum infused with soursop extract, ferulic acid, and green tea to visibly brighten, firm, and hydrate to reveal your most radiant-looking skin. “

Curry’s skincare line was inspired by her mother and grandmother. According to her, growing up as a little kid, she began noticing that her mother’s skin was well-maintained even as years passed by.

She started paying more attention to the advice her mother doled out. This led her to settle on Carribean ingredients like guava, papaya, and soursop. According to her, every product has a little bit of vitamin C and niacinamide in its formulation.

“Everybody needs these three products,” Curry said of designing recipes that work on all skin types. Her products can be found in Black Is Remarkable and Buy Black Store, which features Black-owned businesses on Amazon.

“I am so excited to have our ‘Sweet July’ products selling in Amazon’s store, and I’m honored to be a Black business owner selling in Amazon’s store alongside so many other amazing brands,” she said recently.

In her bid to support other black-owned businesses, she shares her products from the Black Is Remarkable storefront and the Buy Black Store. The move forms part of a commitment between her and Amazon to support Black-owned businesses.

“Amazon and I are both extremely committed to supporting Black-owned businesses, and they are making it easy for customers to discover and shop the incredible selection these businesses provide,” Curry told E! News. “I also love using the new Small Business search filter, which helps customers filter their searches to discover products from small business brands and artisans while shopping.”

Meanwhile, her brand also offers skincare accessories like face towels, headbands, and reusable face rounds.
