Afrobeats superstar Davido has officially confirmed the birth of a beautiful set of twins with his wife, Chioma Rowland. The initial reports about the twins’ arrival came from Nigerian blogs and indicated that the births took place at an Atlanta-based hospital.

The singer on Saturday confirmed the birth of the twins in New York at the United Masters Select Con event, where he disclosed that his wife delivered a beautiful boy and girl, tersely adding that “they came back in double.”

He noted that he maintained faith throughout the challenging time, explaining that others facing similar difficulties might lose faith in God, but he wanted to showcase his unwavering belief. Davido recounted that when he and his wife learned that they were going to have twins, they were greatly surprised, especially at a time when their son had passed away.

According to him, what made the experience particularly emotional for them was that the twins were born in the same month their son passed away. Davido and his wife lost their firstborn son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, last year.

“And it was in the same month – my son passed last year October, my wife gave birth this year October – its crazy,” he said.

He shared that this year’s Father’s Day was particularly challenging for him, acknowledging the difficulty but expressing gratitude for the strength he had found.

Since the announcement of their son’s passing, Chioma has maintained a low profile. In April however, Davido publicly confirmed that he and Chioma had tied the knot.

Davido added that before taking a break, he had an album prepared but decided to redo it. During his time off, he traveled and got married, leading to various life changes. Now, he feels ready to resume his music career and is looking forward to hitting the road. He used the break for reflection and spending quality time with family, and now, he’s eager to create music again.

The Afrobeats star is working on documenting his experience in a film. He said his intention is to offer people a glimpse into the challenges and hard work that occur behind the scenes in his life and career. He wants to show people the struggles that often go unnoticed, emphasizing that success stories and achievements are typically what the public sees, but not the journey it took to get there.

He aims to inspire others by demonstrating that he faced moments of extreme difficulty and almost gave up, even believing he might never be able to sing again.
