An alleged Georgia sex cult leader accused of posting revenge porn after his girlfriend left him was on Friday sentenced to life in prison without parole plus 10 years after he was found guilty of several charges including rape.

According to 11Alive, the convicted man, identified as Eligio Bishop, is said to be the leader of a group known as “Carbon Nation.” Bishop’s conviction also came after authorities arrested him in April 2022. A grand jury in July 2022 ultimately indicted him on rape and four other charges.

Besides rape, Bishop was found guilty of false imprisonment and three counts of prohibition on nude or sexually explicit electronic transmissions. One of the convicted 40-year-old man’s victims said she was Bishop’s girlfriend.

She claimed Bishop, who also goes by the moniker “Natureboy”, shared revenge porn after she left him. She informed authorities that “she had joined a sex cult in which her boyfriend is the leader.” She also said she stayed with Bishop, adding that the alleged cult leader without her consent shared her sexually explicit photos on X (formerly Twitter).

“I wasn’t able to go. I felt like I couldn’t. I felt powerless, and he kept telling me he wanted to just do it one more time, one more,” the victim told the court. “I was basically his disciple, and then he would make me his lover and take me and become his wife,” she added.

The victim touched on the punishment handed out to members who went against the rules of the cult. “When you disrespect …. you would either go in the corner or do squats or be reprimanded or shunned,” she stated.

Bishop’s wife, who was also a member of the cult, told 11Alive that the convicted man subjected members of the group to sexual and emotional abuse. One of Bishop’s victims labeled him as “a monster to us all” before he was sentenced.

“Now you are a prisioner, like you prisoned us,” she added. Despite the allegations, Bishop was heard in court repeatedly saying, “I forgive you” and “I still love you.”

The judge also explained Bishop was handed the life without parole sentence because he showed no remorse over his actions. “You’re a master manipulator and probably the classic definition of a narcissist,” the judge stated.
