Just off of his release of Part 2 of “Monsoons Over the Moon” in November, the Nairobi-based filmmaker Abstract Omega is now trying his hand as the music video director for “MBEX3.”

“MBEX3” is based off of the Swahili, English slang word “Mbe,” which means “ahead of the curve,” and features rappers Amo Kamili and Juke Myster who showcase their rhyming talent against the backdrop of Nairobi’s sleek city streets.

If you are familiar with Abstract Omega’s work, then you already know that the video is punctuated with his signature black-and-white lighting, which lends a grim finish to the mood.

“MBEX3” was conceptualized by rapper Trabolee and producer Buff Beats who is part of Producers on the Road, a Kenyan organization of audio music producers conceived earlier this year.

About their purpose, Producers on the Road told Face2Face Africa that they established themselves “to evolve into a talent hub that incorporates different artists with the aim of empowering them with the knowledge that enables them to benefit and grow their art.”

They also look to help music producers develop their client base and respective networks.
