Poem: Rise!

by Victhur Ihuka, 9:36am February 11, 2016,
African woman

African woman
Let people walk on you and you’ll become small,
Only a reflection of what you could be.
You deserve more, much more.
You deserve love and appreciation
You deserve openness, you deserve the space to
grow.

Maybe you have to leave to find this.
Maybe you have to leave things that gave you
comfort,
But deep down only ever hurt you

You know it feels good in the moment
And
sometimes escaping can help,
But addiction is never helpful
And there is nothing wrong with‎ hurting
Nothing wrong with pain
But never become accustomed to it.

You deserve more…
I deserve more…Love…Appreciation…
Openness…Space to grow.
