LeBron James credited a fan in the stands for playing a key role in his latest triple-double during the Los Angeles Lakers game against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.
The milestone was the 144th triple-double of James’ illustrious career, yet this one stood out, as a fan’s encouragement helped him secure the final rebound needed to reach the stat line, according to a TMZ report.
With less than two minutes remaining in the game, James grabbed his 10th rebound and officially recorded the triple-double.
After securing the board, he pointed into the crowd before moving the ball up the court.
In his postgame interview, James explained how the moment unfolded, and revealed that a fan had been shouting for him to grab one more rebound.

“So, I got one more, and I pointed at him,” LeBron James said about the fan. “To acknowledge that I was listening.”
That rebound also made the Lakers marksman the oldest player in NBA history to record back-to-back triple-doubles, adding yet another accolade to his storied career.
Whether the fan was simply rooting for the 39-year-old or hoping for a lucky bet remains unclear, yet the exchange clearly made an impact on both, and James insists that it proved crucial on the day.
