Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good have taken their relationship to the next level. Per Us Weekly, the couple announced they were officially engaged at the Ebony Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Good, 43, flaunted her engagement ring on the red carpet as she and Majors, 35, posed for photos. “[The] Ebony Power 100 is the event that we met at in the bathrooms, in the unisex bathroom,” Good told E! News about their decision to announce their engagement at the event.

As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Majors and Good started dating in May 2023. The couple announced their engagement after the Divorce in the Black star’s representative debunked rumors about a breakup between the actress and her beau.

Good’s representative provided the update about the pair’s relationship status after a guest on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show initially claimed that she and Majors had gone their separate ways.

“They are not broken up. In fact, they will be attending the Ebony 100 Gala together,” the rep told TMZ. During a red carpet interview with PEOPLE at the NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles in March, Good touched on her relationship with Majors, saying that she was in a better place.

That event was the first time the couple appeared at a prominent awards show after Majors was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Majors’ December 2023 conviction traces back to a March 2023 incident in downtown Manhattan involving a heated argument with Jabbari.

Although Majors has been spared jail time, the repercussions of his guilty verdict have already impacted him beyond the courtroom. The guilty verdict resulted in his removal from his Marvel role as Kang the Conqueror.

Despite her current beau’s legal woes, Good confirmed they were in a good space and also provided an update on her personal life.

“I’m in love, I’m transitioning, I’m healing, I’m growing [and] I’m getting excited about what’s next,” she said at the time. “Yeah, just a lot of things at once. But what I can say is, I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long time.”
