Chance the Rapper and his wife, Kirsten Corley Bennett, are officially ending their marriage.
On Friday, Corley Bennett filed for divorce in Cook County, Illinois, per court records. This legal step follows the couple’s announcement in April that they had separated after more than three years of marriage.
In a joint statement shared via Chance’s Instagram Stories at the time, the pair wrote, “After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways. We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition.”
The couple, who tied the knot in March 2019, share two daughters: Kensli, 9, and Marli Grace, 5. They plan to continue co-parenting their children.

Chance and Kirsten celebrated their love with a lavish ceremony at the Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, California, attended by celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Dave Chappelle, and Kirk Franklin, who performed at the event. However, court documents indicate they were legally wed months earlier in a civil ceremony in Chicago on December 27, 2018.
Their love story stretches back to 2003, when a 9-year-old Chance met Kirsten at his mother’s office party. Reflecting on that first encounter, he once shared, “I locked eyes with the prettiest girl I had ever seen in my almost-a-decade of life.”
Though their romantic journey has come to an end, the couple remains committed to raising their daughters together.
