Lil Wayne seems to have moved past his initial disappointment over being “snubbed” for the Super Bowl 59 halftime show in his hometown of New Orleans.
He’s now cheering for Kendrick Lamar to deliver an outstanding performance.
Despite Skip Bayless’s efforts on his Monday show to rile up Wayne by expressing his confusion and anger over the absence of Young Money emblems at Caesars Superdome, Wayne assured fans that everything is “all good”, according to TMZ.
“I’ve spoken to him, and I wish him all the best and I told him he better kill it,” Wayne told Skip. “For whatever reason I believe it’s over my head. I don’t know why, period. Obviously, I believe that it’s perfect. I do not know why.”
Joe Budden heard rumblings Wayne was ready to respond to Kendrick’s “GNX” opener “wacced out murals,” where the pgLang gang leader rapped, “Used to bump ‘Tha Carter III’, I held my Rollie chain proud / Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down.”
Lil Wayne, while still disappointed about missing the top spot in his hometown’s Super Bowl 59 halftime show, didn’t hold back on praising Kendrick Lamar’s talent.
There’s still a chance Wayne might make a cameo appearance, leaving fans in anticipation.
Only time will tell.
