With state of the art technology, extensive research resources and faculty who are experts in their field, it is no surprise that receiving acceptance letters from any Ivy League school is one of the greatest achievements that many students in America dream of. The league consists of eight prestigious universities in America: Harvard University, Cornell University, Brown University, Yale University, University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, Dartmouth College and Columbia University.
For African families that have immigrated to America, an Ivy League school education may be proof of the opportunities they sought in the West. For the rest of us, it is more evidence of the many world-class scholars and academics the continent has produced and will continue to produce in the future.
