Canadian rapper Drake has revealed that he tried to initiate a possible collaboration with Justin Bieber, yet didn’t receive any replies on Instagram after reaching out to the “Sorry” singer.

On Sunday, April 6, Bieber took to Instagram, putting out three nondescript images and a dark selfie, with a caption that read: “Dm me if u wanna make music together.”

Although it was the fans of the pop star that eagerly responded, some musicians including Drake left a message for Bieber.

The 38-year-old rapper replied in the comments: “I DM’d but no reply.”

After Drake’s public comment, fans were expecting Bieber to respond to Drizzy but there was no message or comment to him or the other musicians like Big Sean, Kehlani, Jaden Smith and country star Bailey Zimmerman from the “Sorry” singer.

Drake’s comment to Bieber’s post on Instagram has since gone viral on social media, and many fans replied directly to his comment. “we better see a collab soon”, one user wrote.

Meanwhile, other fans took to X to share their views. One said: “Him and Drake on a song goes triple platinum btw.”

Over a decade ago in 2012, the Canadian duo collaborated on the song “Right Here,” which was on Bieber’s third studio album, Believe.

The song reached its peak on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 95 in July 2012.

The exchange between Drake and Justin Bieber on Instagram comes shortly after Drizzy’s latest release, “Nokia.”

On Monday, March 31, Drake unveiled the music video for the song, which appears on ‘Some Sexy Songs 4 U’, his collaborative project with PARTYNEXTDOOR.

In recent months, Justin Bieber has continued to hint at the possibility of new music as he has not released a solo studio album since Justice in 2021.

Bieber shared a photo of himself in the studio surrounded by collaborators working with guitars, soundboards, laptops, and microphones, but it seems Drake is not within his plans this year.

A new full-length project would mark Bieber’s seventh studio album since his 2010 debut, My World 2.0, and would also be among his first new solo releases since 2022 and 2023, when he reportedly dropped the joint singles “Honest” and “Private Landing” with Don Toliver.
