Billionaire basketball superstar LeBron James has undoubtedly achieved a lot both on and off the court. The four-time NBA champion and future Hall of Famer’s endorsement portfolio recently expanded as he became Barbie’s first-ever official Kenbassador, Complex reported.
The 40-year-old Akron, Ohio native’s recent feat makes him the first professional athlete to have Mattel replicate their image as a Ken doll. Barbie collaborated with the LeBron James Family Foundation to release the LeBron James Kenbassadors doll.
James, in a statement to announce the doll’s release, touched on why it is indispensable for young people to have role models. “As a young kid, I was fortunate to have role models who not only inspired me but also showed me what’s possible through hard work and dedication,” the Los Angeles Lakers superstar said.
“Now, as an adult, I understand how vital it is for young people to have positive figures to look up to. That’s why partnering with Barbie to release the LeBron James Kenbassadors doll is such an honor. It’s an opportunity to recognize the powerful impact of role models who instill confidence, inspire dreams, and show kids that they, too, can achieve greatness.”
