A police officer at a New York school has been relieved of her duties over comments she made about Charlie Kirk’s killing.
Per the New York Post, officials at Somers Intermediate School said that they removed School Resource Officer Tanisha Blanche after she took to her Instagram Stories to share her sentiments over the September 10 shooting death of the conservative political activist, author, and media personality at Utah Valley University.
“Well that white sniper was over qualified when he put that hole in your neck hunni bunni,” one of Blanche’s posts read.
“Welp! That didn’t end well buddy,” another post read alongside a re-posted video of Kirk, 31. “Why yall don’t have that same energy for the school shooting that took place yesterday, but yall crying over the man that was ok with gun violence….Make it make sense,” a third post read.

Officials with the school stated that they relieved Blanche of her duties and also notified police about her actions on social media.
“The nature of the posts glorifies violence, which is completely unacceptable for someone entrusted with the safety of students and staff members,” Somers Superintendent of Schools Adam Bronstein said in a letter to parents about their decision to remove Blanche.
Bronstein stated that their “most sacred and important obligation” was the safety of the school. Bronstein said that the Westchester County School Resource Officers unit supervisor removed Blanche after he got in touch with the official.
“The Westchester County Police Department has affirmed that another SRO will be assigned to our schools on Monday. I am in touch directly with the police to ensure the safety and continuity of our SRO program going forward,” added.
