During a recent appearance on the Joe and Jada podcast, Moroccan-American rapper French Montana revealed how he met his fiancée, Dubai Princess Sheikha Mahra.

“It was one of my homeboys, he plugged me with her in Dubai,” Montana, 41, told hosts Jadakiss and Fat Joe, per Complex.

“I just happened to be in Dubai, I remember I had seen she put up that post where she divorced somebody. And I’m like, ‘I like her.’ ‘Cause it takes a lot of guts to throw that up. So when she threw that up, I’m like, ‘I like her.’”

Montana, born Karim Kharbouch, also revealed that his friend had a connection with someone who knew the Dubai princess. “Do what you gotta do,” the Shot Caller rapper said in reference to what he told his friend.

As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Montana and Mahra got engaged last year.

Per TMZ, Montana and Mahra got engaged in June 2025 at the Paris Fashion Week. Their engagement also reportedly came after the Unforgettable rapper strutted the runway.

The couple has been hanging out since 2024, and they have been seen together at mosques and dining at plush restaurants in Dubai and Morocco. And though the wedding date and other arrangements for their union are yet to be finalized, both families are said to be happy about the couple taking their relationship to the next level.

Mahra, whose father is Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is a divorcee. She took to Instagram in July 2024 to announce her split from her ex-husband, Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum. That post has, however, been deleted.

“Dear Husband, I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you,” she wrote at the time, BBC reported. “Take care. Your ex-wife.”
