TikTok star Mainly Mannie reveals he contracted HIV from his ex

TikTok star and content creator Mainly Mannie took to the social media platform on Saturday to announce that he has been diagnosed with HIV, and he contracted the virus from his ex. 

Per the New York Post, Mannie opened up about his diagnosis to his 1.4 million TikTok followers in a video that he posted from the hospital.

“I’m a lucky person. Blessed. I just wanna tell you guys a few things,” Mannie said. “Life has been trying to take me out lately,” he added in the video that has amassed over 2 million views. 

“From the accidents, the sicknesses, and stuff and then me finding out I had AIDs and HIV summertime of this year. I couldn’t walk after the summer.”

“Listen, I am not the victim here,” he also said. “Yes, my ex gave me this and I didn’t know, he hid a lot of things, but I’m not a victim because I had signs. I was so deep in love. But God is good. I know now.”

Mannie also stated that he spends $4,000 monthly on HIV medication. “So, I’m gonna be working a lot,” he said with a laugh. “I think I’m gonna register for foundations and stuff. Not I think — I am. I’m feeling way better. I feel like me. I feel like the Boss and CEO!”

“I’m so glad that life has finally started for me! I’ve always been grateful & honestly truthfully with everyone on here!” he captioned in the video. “Sorry I thought otherwise ???? I’m starting myself back real soon! I know I said things before ! But the is REAL ON MY END! God bless each and every one who has HIV/ADIS #Godisamazing your health is important.”

Mannie additionally took to Instagram to share a video of him being helped by a nurse as he used a walker. 

“So this is what my insurance is paying for and my 30% that comes out of pocket. This is why I appreciate every donation. ????????,” he wrote.

Mannie has also set up a GoFundMe to help raise funds for his medication. “I do plan on giving some money to charities that support HIV and people that can’t afford,” Mannie wrote in the fundraiser. “I have a platform with so many great supporters so I know I can’t die out here.”

“I have great support and I’ll survive,” he added. “I do this GoFundMe to help others because it’s the right thing to do!”
