Twenty-nine Nigerians yesterday arrived in Nigeria after they were deported from six European countries.

They were deported from  Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Norway and Lithuania over immigration-related offences.

According to the Lagos Airport Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Lagos Airport Police Command, Joseph Alabi,  the deportees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMlA) Lagos about 7.35a.m. Thursday.

They were aboard a chartered Titan Airways aircraft with registration number G-POWD.

“28 of the deportees were alleged to have committed immigration-related offences while one of them was allegedly involved in a police case,” Alabi added.

The deportees were then allowed to go to their destinations.

In June, 34 Nigerians were deported from America over similar offences.

The deportation come at a time when over half a million Nigerians have moved to a different country since 2016, according to Nigerian Immigration Services.
