Political activism has been in Africa since time immemorial as many people rise against the excesses of their governments.  While many think these activists are important, their lives come with a very high price tag.

Many have been killed and others have spent their lives in jail. Some more have been tortured to the brink of death.

A few others have tried to take their governments to court for these violations, not so many enjoyed that privilege. They, therefore, choose a different strategy of existing away from government surveillance: exile.

Not so many have been lucky as they were banned from their country for standing up against the government.
