Archaeological findings have proven over and over again that Ancient African civilisations were well ahead of their time. They not only featured well-established towns but also advanced systems of governance and trade.
These towns were created because of trade, cultural exchange or transit for traders and pilgrims.
Although some of these cities have been destroyed, others still exist until today. They have not only been protected by governments but have also been inscribed as Unesco Heritage sites.
