Africans are big on a lot of things but it seems one thing they will risk everything for is making sure that their delicacies are not to be joked with. For Africa, food is not just a time to satisfy hunger but a celebration of heritage and identity passed on from generation to generation with ease.
African meals have fast become global favourites with the likes of Jollof Rice, Eba and various local soups and styles of preparing meat satisfying the curious taste buds of Westerners.
Today on Foodie Friday, we focus a bit more on the most important meals of the day and the various local breakfast meals that Africans will choose any day over a bowl of cornflakes or a slice of bread and tea.
These breakfast meals are very affordable and sold at almost every street and joint one could think of. One needs to be quick to be in the queue as early as possible as they tend to get finished as soon as they are off the fire.
