2nd Annual Natural Beauty Bazaar Takes Place in Ghana December 5th

The Natural Beauty Bazaar (NBB) is here again! Following the first successful event in 2012, the initiative by Twists & Locs Salon and The Body Butter Company; the Natural Beauty Bazaar (#nbbgh14) returns on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the W.E. B. Dubois Center, near the American Embassy, Cantonments.

The Natural Beauty Bazaar, is a celebration of all things natural and is a fun filled opportunity for family to learn, shop and meet new people. There has been a recent resurgence of interest in natural hair in Ghana and this is coupled with the renewed aspiration towards healthy lifestyles. The bazaar is designed to be a marketplace where all things natural, Ghanaian and healthy will be promoted.

The Natural Beauty Bazaar was established by two entrepreneurs Kuorkor Dzani and Korkor Kugblenu who realized that there were limited platforms for entrepreneurs in the natural wellness and beauty space to showcase their products and services. They also noticed an absence of the network for small businesses. For the vendors in attendance the bazaar provides an opportunity to share, collaborate and foster partnerships whilst pooling resources to reach a larger audience.

The theme of this year’s Bazaar is “Beauty from the Inside, Out” and is in response to the recent focus of Ghanaians on healthy living and total wellness. The Bazaar will start at 10am with educational panels, product and services sales, and will end at 8pm with a musical concert by Akwaaba Sound System featuring Acoustic and DJ sets as well as a performance by Zoh Zoh. The panels will be facilitated by experts who will speak on Inner beauty (healthy eating, exercise etc.) and Outer beauty (Natural hair care, natural skin care and beauty tips). Some of the experts that will be on hand include Twists and Locs Salon, Niobe Salon and Spa, Freshbites, Isis Gym and Herbalife Ghana.

There will be several opportunities to win gifts and products from the vendors in raffle draws, a wheel of fortune and for the first 50 people in attendance.

The bazaar will provide an opportunity to buy from a number of the leading small business owners, healthy lifestyle practitioners / advocates and products that champion a holistic healthy lifestyle. Some of the over 30 exciting vendors will be restaurants like Island Spice serving Jamaican food, Fresh bites serving salads and fresh fruit smoothies etc. There will also be natural beauty products from Afro Riri, Peini, The Body Butter Company, Moringa connect, Eya naturals and Beauty Secrets among others. Supporting the farmers directly, we will have produce and fresh vegetables on sale from Moco, Lakesyde farms, Agripro amongst others. To get a head start on Christmas shopping for family a friends, there will be clothing and accessories from Poqua Poqu, Bri Wireduah, M-tindo, Obaa yaa accessories and Nona Box by Sterlings place.

Children will not be left out as there will be educational and fun activities including a bouncy castle and a reading corner by Reader’s Haven. Herbalife, Easy Taxi and Viasat One are partnering to help make the event a success.
