The phrase “strong black women” can be synonymous with many trains of thought.

It can mean a woman who has experienced an insurmountable amount of pain without letting her circumstances affect her negatively. It may mean a woman who is confident in her abilities without flinching when her talents are questioned.

Whatever the case may be, black women who deviate out of the mould that communities and social norms have constructed are often labeled poorly.

How dare a black woman dream of becoming anything more than what others have decided she should be?

Well, some do not only dream that they can achieve more than they could even imagine.
