Vladjimir Legagneur
The Haitian freelance photojournalist was last seen by his wife, Fleurette Guerrier, the morning of March 14, 2018, when he left their home in the capital of Port-au-Prince to do a report in another neighbourhood in the capital, Grand-Ravine. Pierre Michel Jean, Legagneur’s colleague told CPJ that the missing journalist was working on an independent project in Grand-Ravine, one of Haitian’s poorest and violent neighbourhoods. According to Reporters Without Borders, a few days after his disappearance, the police said they had found human remains in an unused lot near where he was last seen. They have, however, failed to release the findings of the DNA tests conducted on the remains, despite pressure from family and colleagues. Progress has, therefore, not been made in the case.
