George Weah
Famed for his skills on the ball, George Weah was the poster boy for African football in the 1990s. The Liberian footballer won African Player of the Year on three occasions and was included in the list of FIFA 100 greatest living players of all time.
Spending five years with Serie A giants AC Milan, he won two Serie A titles.
Despite his success on the field, Weah displayed a hunger to achieve more off the field. He concentrated on politics; although he narrowly missed out in 2005, he continued to strive until he won and was inaugurated as president in 2018.
