Lagbaja – Nigeria

Lagbaja first stepped into the scene with a mission to thrill his audience with authentic Nigerian Afrobeat music and shot to fame within minutes. The term Lagbadja in the Yoruba language translates to “somebody, anybody” or “nobody in particular ” and fits his masquerade attire.

His mastery of the drums and saxophone and soothing voice continue to be the favourite of many Nigerians and lover of Afrobeat music. Lagbaja represents the voiceless in society with his music and attire. His inspiration is traditional music fused with jazz and he constantly refers to Fela and Femi Kuti as his icons.

He has won several international awards and runs a nightclub, Motherlan’ that provides live afrobeat music. Some of his most popular songs are Never Far Away and Konko below.
