Born Elizabeth Zandile Tshele, Bulawayo is a Zimbabwean author who’s penned Snapshots, Hitting Budapest, and We Need New Names. She’s made a footmark as the first Black African woman and Zimbabwean to be shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize –  a literary prize awarded annually for the best original novel written in the English language and published in the UK. Bulawayo has also Los Angeles Times Book Prize and the Hemingway Foundation/PEN Award for We Need New Names.

Bulawayo currently is on the pan-African literary initiative, Writivism’s Board of Trustees and has a memoir in the works.
