Civil strife in the Democratic Republic of Congo
The crisis in the DRC has been ongoing for a while and it is time to deal with it once and for all. From the beginning of 2017, more than 4.49 million people have been internally displaced, with a number of others already seeking refuge in neighbouring countries.
Fighting broke out between local militias and the national government, following President Kabila’s refusal to step down in 2016.
The country has also struggled with Ebola outbreak in the past month, with the government working in tandem with the World Health Organisation to put the situation under control.
