Mia Amor Mottley
In May 2018, Mia Amor Mottley made history as the 53-year-old lawyer elected as the first elected Prime Minister of Barbados since 1966. Mia came out successful despite a barrage of personal and political attacks from the DLP during the election campaign. Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley first entered politics in 1961 and rose in the ranks thanks to her efficiency and hard work. After becoming Prime Minister, Mia Amor Mottley is working closely with celebrities and well-known entrepreneurs in Barbados such as Rihanna to help uplift the country.
