50 Cent’s former consultant, Michael Caruso, has sued Sire Spirits for $4 million, saying the rapper fired him from a business partnership without paying him.
According to the lawsuit, Caruso’s company is said to have played an instrumental role in the 2015 establishment and marketing of Sire Spirits’ high-end liquor brand but he was misled about his promised ownership share.
Caruso’s lawyer, Paul J. Fishman, claims that his client “dedicated his time, expertise, and resources to ensure the success of Sire Spirits.”
In addition, the lawsuit charges the In Da Club crooner with secretly recording a phone call between Caruso and another person without that person’s permission, alleging that it was a privacy violation that was used against the plaintiff in depositions, arbitration hearings, and court cases.
Caruso is requesting $4 million in damages for alleged illegal wiretapping, breach of contract, and other related offenses.
According to his legal team, the requested restitution fairly compensates Caruso for the supposed financial losses.
50 Cent has publicly attacked his former consultant on social media, claiming that he turned on Gatien and worked with law enforcement to reveal cocaine sales at the club.
In a since-deleted post, 50 Cent wrote, “ This fool has been snitching since 1942, Don Julio! You know he gonna tell on everybody. LOL @beamsuntory is f*cked, they was paying this guy Michael Caruso a half a million a year and him and his partner Julious Grant put this together. @beamsuntory @jimbeamofficial This is gonna make a great Tv show. @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi.”
