Amon N’ Douffou V, King of the Kingdom of Sanwi, Ivory Coast
The monarch of the Sanwi kingdom in Ivory Coast, Cote d’Ivoire, is Amon N’Douffou V. He succeeded his late father, Amon N’Douffou IV, on the throne in 1999. In the year 1740, the Kingdom of Sanwi was founded by Ghanaian immigrants, according to some traditions, but it quickly became a protectorate of France.
