Texas Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett launched a fiery social media takedown of President Donald Trump over the weekend, accusing him of overstepping constitutional bounds by unilaterally launching military strikes on Iran. But in a surprising twist, the progressive lawmaker also offered rare praise to a House Republican, Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky, for challenging the president’s war powers.
In a late-night Instagram Live video on Saturday, Crockett didn’t hold back, skewering Trump’s recent military actions and accusing him of circumventing Congress.
“So long story short, for those of you that are unaware, the mofo that resides in the White House has unilaterally, in my estimation, declared war,” Crockett said.

The term “mofo” is commonly understood as a censored version of a profane insult. Crockett’s blunt remarks placed her at the center of growing Democratic backlash against what they view as Trump’s unchecked use of executive power in matters of war.

“We are living in this time in which there is someone who is occupying the White House who does not care about any rules, any norms, any laws, nor the Constitution. And we cannot be a civilized country if there is no law and order,” she added.
Crockett, who has emerged as one of the more outspoken voices on the Democratic left, also targeted Trump’s immigration stance, drawing a stark comparison between undocumented immigrants and the threat she believes the administration poses.
“I know that they may claim, ‘We law and order, blah blah blah. So go get the undocumented people and let’s try to ship them out.’ Let me tell you something – they are not the people that are putting us in harm’s way,” she said. “It is him and his administration that is putting us in harm’s way.”
As outrage over the strikes continued to unfold, Crockett urged her followers to take action, particularly by pressuring Republican lawmakers in districts across the country.
“I literally need you to wake them the f— up, because everything since he has stepped into office has done nothing other than put us in harm’s way,” she said.
Though her criticism of Trump was expected, Crockett’s commendation of Massie raised eyebrows.
“And right now there’s only one Republican that I know I can count on for sure doing the right thing. And that’s going to be Thomas Massie. The rest of them, it’s a little bit questionable.”

Massie, a libertarian-leaning conservative, is co-leading a bipartisan resolution alongside Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna of California aimed at restricting Trump’s authority to engage in military conflict with Iran. Speaking to Fox News Digital, Massie said he believed their measure could succeed in the narrowly divided House.
“I think it could [pass the House], because we have such a tight majority. And the Democrats aren’t very consistent about war, but when there’s a Republican in the White House, they find their religion, their anti-war religion again,” he said.
In response to Crockett’s comments, a White House official dismissed the bipartisan alignment, telling Fox News Digital: “The fact Jasmine Crockett is siding with Massie tells you everything you need to know about both of them!”
Meanwhile, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also hit back.
“The last time I checked, Jasmine Crockett couldn’t dream of winning such a majority of the public as President Trump did. And the America First movement, which President Trump has built, is filled of hardworking patriots, the forgotten men and women, business owners, law enforcement officers, nurses, and teachers. And middle America – as we all know, you know, from where you all grew up, outside of this beltway – that’s who makes up this president’s movement,” Leavitt said. “Jasmine Crockett should go to a Trump rally sometime, and she can see it for herself.”
While Trump’s recent decision to bomb three Iranian nuclear sites drew support from Republican leaders and several pro-Israel Democrats, others, including prominent conservatives, have voiced concern.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene stated on X, “I could support President Trump and his great administration on many of the great things they are doing while disagreeing on bombing Iran and getting involved in a hot war that Israel started.”
Rep. Warren Davidson of Ohio echoed the need for legislative oversight.
“While President Trump has legal precedent on his side, the legal reality underscores how far we’ve drifted from the constitutional order,” he said.
