Ouagadougou Cathedral
Also known as the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of Ouagadougou, the Ouagadougou Cathedral is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso’s capital city.
The massive cathedral was built in the 1930s by apostolic Vicar Joanny Thevenoud from the White Fathers, during the time of French North Africa. Behind the main building is the altar dedicated to Mary, the mother of Jesus, with an effigy of the Virgin.
