Ohio authorities are still searching for a 71-year-old doctor who went missing last week after he returned home from a hospital where he was taken.

Per WTOL 11, the last time surveillance footage captured the missing doctor, identified as Cletus Iwuagwu, was around his Holland home. The Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, as well as Toledo’s and Springfield Township’s fire departments, have since been working together to locate Iwuagwu.

Authorities had also narrowed down their search to the Stone Oak neighborhood and targeted water bodies and wooded areas at the time of this report.

“We ran a drone through the area, searched the body of water in the surrounding area, and then Toledo Fire put a boat in there with a side sonar and did a sonar sweep of the body of water,” LCSO Lt. Jonathan Leach said. “So far we have not been able to locate Dr. Iwuagwu.”

And though the sheriff’s office also said that they received a tip, they still could not use that information to locate the doctor. Iwuagwu is said to have gone missing after he was discharged from the hospital, and he was last seen in a white shirt and a blue shirt.

“It’s still an active case,” Leach said. “He’s still missing, and we’re asking anybody in the general public with any information or any sightings of Dr. Iwuagwu to please contact the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office.”

At the time of this report, Leach also said that they did not “suspect foul play,” adding that “we have a missing adult and we’re obviously concerned.”

“We have run the dogs through much of the area. These are residential properties. It’s not public land. You can’t just walk on private properties. That could cause problems with the homeowners,” Leach continued.

“The family has been beyond cooperative, particularly considering what they have been going through. We’re hoping we can give them a resolution. We’re hoping that he simply walks out of the woods and that he just wanted to clear his head.”
