Malcolm X

Directed by Spike Lee and released in 1992, Malcolm X is a tribute to the controversial black activist and leader of the struggle for black liberation. Actor Denzel Washington offers a comprehensive narrative of the life of the civil rights hero who was imprisoned in the 1950s and later became a Black Muslim and leader of the Nation of Islam. He was assassinated in 1965 and this left behind a legacy of racial pride.
